Entirely refurbished and newly equipped, this stylishly decorated holiday home offers tranquil family accomodation just minutes from the beach.
With its stone flagging, parquet floors, beamed ceiling and sunny courtyard, you will love this charming fisherman's cottage and its quiet but central location.
Maison d'Aquitaine is a superbly renovated authentic Ile de Ré townhouse, just minutes on foot from all the quayside cafés, restaurants and boutiques of St Martin.
We had a marvellous holiday on Ile de Re the week before last. We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the island and the good weather was a bonus but being able to stay in Maison d’Aquitaine was a particular joy. You have restored it beautifully and its central location in St Martin was perfect. Simple pleasures like the stroll down to the bakery every morning to collect bread and pastries or being able to explore on a bike were a delight.
We loved it so much that we decided that we would like to come back next year!
We have had a lovely week,as always, in St Martin and will be sorry to leave tomorrow. Thank you again Jenny for the lovely Maison de Pecheur.
Our stay is almost over, and what a good time we have had as well. Your house is just what we hoped for. Beautifully and sympathetically converted and furnished with great flair and taste. Just as we would have done it ! The bunch of roses, wine and sweets were a much appreciated gesture.
Thanks for a lovely stay, best wishes, Peter and Gina.
I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful holiday in the Ile de Re. The Maison de Charme was really comfortable and beautifully decorated and with a 3 minute walk to the beach, it couldn’t have been better! We found the Carrefour and the indoor market on the first day and enjoyed lots of delicious produce from there.
We’re now just trying to re-adjust to life back at home – sadly no trip to the market this morning!
We had a very relaxing two weeks at the Maison d’Aquitaine. The house is beautiful, very well equipped and perfectly located. Jenny organised for us to be met at the airport, and that was the last time we got into a car until our return. St Martin is very picturesque and photogenic, and very well provided for restaurants. We recommend particularly the Air de Famille, just round the corner and wonderful food made by the owner. Bizarrely it is closed on Saturdays. We ate out for either lunch or dinner most days (and sometimes breakfast), but for meals at the house we were very well provided by the fantastic covered market – open every morning until 1:00pm.. There is a tiny supermarket behind the market, and that and the boulangerie gave us everything we needed. It is very easy to hire bikes, and there are plenty of nice walks.
We would definitely recommend it and hope to be going back.
I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time and the house was great. The location was perfect and we had everything we needed. We ate out a lot and managed to explore some of the key places on the island by bike in fact covering over 80km during the week with regular stops for wine & oysters!
We totally fell in love with Ile de Re and hope to come back again.
Dear Jenny, I’d like to thank you for helping us to achieve one of the best holidays we have ever experienced. I personally found that Maison d’Aquitaine was furnished and styled impeccably, and that the location of the house was perfect. The fact that we were able to wander through the streets of St. Martin feeling ‘almost’ like locals, was a treat that remains with us: being able to wander down to the boulangerie by the harbour, cycling to the beaches, exploring the interior, even hearing the bells and bustle in the early morning; not a single one of those annoyances in normal life was an annoyance for the week that we were there!
It is inevitable, as far as I’m concerned, that we visit again. As a final word I’d like to highlight and thank you again for your uncomplicated approach to property rental.
We really enjoyed staying in your house. We loved how the house was decorated and that it was well equipped. Thank you also for the beautiful flowers and the nice bottle of wine!
The location of the house is really great and we loved that it was so close to restaurants, shops and the market. St. Martin is really a charming little village.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the cottage and once again had a lovely holiday visiting Ille de Re – the weather was the best we have had in the last 4 years of visiting the island in June.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Maison d’Aquitaine in the week beginning 30 August – the house was just great, very pretty and in a perfect location – we would love to come again. We also really appreciated the standard of the bathrooms!
