  • Chocolate and caramel of the Ile de Ré – Every day from Tuesday to Friday, Saint Martin de Ré

Love chocolate? You will love visiting the island’s chocolate factory! Based in Saint Martin de Ré, the little workshop will make you discover the key to making the best chocolate! Every week from Tuesday to Friday at 10:30am and 15:30pm.

  • Visit Loix’s cheese factory – Until 31st October, Loix en Ré

Just next to Loix’s honey house hides another of the island’s local products: cheese! So why not go and visit Loix’s cheese factory which boasts some of France’s most iconic goat cheeses. Open every day from 10h – 13h and 17h30 – 19h30.

  • Tour of Loix’s soap factory – May 31st and June 2nd, Loix en Ré

You might have seen them along Saint Martin’s high street, soaps made out of donkey milk. Now you know what we do with the island’s famous donkeys. Loix’s factory offers you the opportunity to see how the authentic Ile de Ré soap is made. Visits are every Tuesday and Thursday at 14h30.

  • Discover oyster farming – June 2nd, La Flotte en Ré

Oysters are just another example of Ile de Ré’s impressive food and culinary heritage. After a brief history of oyster farming on the island, you will be taken through what it is like to work in an oyster park and how it is managed.   • The island’s wine maker – Monday to Friday, Ars en RéCoopérative des Vignerons

Although you can only do a full visit of the wine cellar in July and August (all year round for big groups), the Coopérative des Vignerons is sill open for you to come and try the best wines that Ile de Ré has to offer. Dicscover all the secrets about the production of Pineau wines and Cognac – Monday to Friday from 9 to 12pm and from 2 to 6pm.
